The Metamorphosis

Kafka pays attention to the bodies and gestures of people in a way that subtly undercuts like the they're intimidating authority. One of the funniest things happens in the Metamorphosis, which I prefer to call the transformation. That's when this character awakes in this horrific fashion as a gigantic insect. And then you're already at the punchline of a joke where he says, "I must be overworked"
