The Importance of Adaptation
The point from 160 to 145, let's just say hypothetically takes a minute. With time doing the same thing, you start noticing that your recovery shortens up to 30 seconds. And so this is an adaptation that occurs metabolically. Your body gets better at not repurposing the lactate. You don't want to repurpose lactate in an hour event. What you want to do is get rid of it.
