Empathize With Your Customer Than With Your Colleagues

It's become almost a cliche to say about designers that they have way more empathy for their users than their colleagues. In an organization, you're up against each other all the time and your interests are much more aligned with somebody out in the world. Part of that is the framing of answers being more valuable than questions. Individuals and teams within organizations are often in competition for whose idea wins.
