Vasopressin - What's Blocked by LASIX?

The key part of this is that vasopressin opens the door, but you need to have that concentrated medullary interstition to draw the water through. So hypercalcemia actually exerts a Lasix-like effect at the thickest any limited loop of Henle. The calcium reabsorption is regulated. Every time the blood calcium concentration gets high, it shuts down ROMK that prevents potassium recycling. Potassium is quickly extinguished or runs out in the tubular fluid and effectively shuts down the sodium potassium 2 chloride transporter.
