The jury is out on whether or not magte will be the ultimate weapon in the arsenal of magnesium sleep supplementation. Valarian, which you mentioned, also, unfortunately, goes the same way as magnesium. There have now been huge amount of studies looking at valerian. Five of the seven showed no benefit whatsoever, relative to plasibo.
