ulcerative colitis is an inflammatory condition that begins in the rectum so endoscopically when we start our evaluation we'll see evidence of inflammation right from the get go. Crohn's disease often manifests in the terminal ileum so on a colonoscopy and someone we're concerned with having IBD we will always try to intubate theTerminal ileum to evaluate there for inflammation. cobblestoneing which is when there are so many ulcers in the colon or the small intestine and there's space so close together that it almost looks like cobblestones like on a walkway.
