You mention in the book fighting distractions, and you have some pretty counter intuitive advice to sort of combat when your mind wanders and drifts. When our minds drift after 15 to 20 minutes, that's because our attention systems are doing what they're supposed to do. They're meant to pick up on what's changing. So if we didn't have the ability to detect changing things in our environment, we'd just be sitting ducks.
