Dimas: We want to reduce the amount of stretch that the muscle fibers are experiencing when they're activated. That's going to cause extra cellular calcium ions to enter the muscle. He says training with slower tempos could potentially cause more calcium ion accumulation because it causes less metabolite related fatigue.
