The Effects of Dissociation on Emotional Regulation
Sometimes people can get a delayed response, which is, I guess, telling you that maybe there is a bit of dissociation or it's just taking time for your brain to process what's happening. So something might happen for someone that's upsetting and then they might feel quite numb or okay. And then a few days later, you're then having that emotional response. For some people who have a lot of teas in their life, both past and present, they might chronically be in a state of fight or flight and that's going to make emotional regulation a lot harder.
