The Martyr Made Podcast

CHAPTER

The Mashika and the Rulers of the World

A symbol that both exalts and degrades something at the same time is an expression of a pervasive ambiolence. The ancient kings of hawaii had no medals at all, so gold chamber pots were unavailable as a symbol for them but they exalted their bodily wastes by having a special family whose job it was to take charge of the king's excrement. Men have expressed their age old ambiolence about women by creating symbols that both exalt and degrade: the hore with the heart of gold or the vagina with teeth in it. A polytheism may strike our intellects as pushing too far beyond what we are capable of comprehending.
