Are We Obliged to Bring Into Existence the Person Who Would Have the Better Life?

Onconsequentialists think we are obligated to bring into existence the person who would have the better life. Many people, i think, intuitively, feel that we morally ought to choose to bring intoexistence the person who will live a good life. And whilst i agree it would be better so to choose, am inclined towards the view that it would not be wrong to choose tobring into existence the shorter, less good life instead. The non identity problem refers to the theoretical paradox that arises in these cases where our actions change the identity of the person we might bring into existence. It seems to imply that no one is made better or worse off as a result of our choosing an action that
