Older people who consume more protein hang onto more muscle. They don't progress towards frailty, they fall less and live shorter lives. But are these populations consuming under that 1.2 gram per kilogram target? It depends on the person - some of them are close to the EAR. There would be a number of angles to address and protein would absolutely be one of them but it's one of several.
