The Score Board Is Not in Your Control
Set your sights is all about realizing what's in your control and what's not. We like to talk, but with our athletes, that we have five things in our control: training, nutrition, recovery, sleep and mind set. In actuality, you can only control one thing, as epictetus would say, is your reasoned choice. If you are ultimately the best prepared and you work harder than anybody else, that's the only thing that you really, really have control over.
