Progressive Muscular Relaxation Is a Great Tool to Prevent Pain
We start becoming aware of when our jaw starts to get tense, and we know what it feels like when it's relaxed. We can override d an force ourselves to relax those muscles. Another strategy that i encourage people to do is what i call meal time mindfulness. This means practising mindfulness, just doing a mindfulness inventory at every single meal. That's three times a day. And for a lot of people, that's more mindful than they've been in a long time.
