Omega-3 Fatty Acids and the Role They Play in Brain Function
Omega-3 fatty acids are an important part of the cell membrane. They're involved in a process called neurogenesis, making new brain cells. We also know they have an important role in turning off inflammation. With dementia and aging, there's a very high inflammation component to this. If you're not getting enough omega-3s, you can't turn off your inflammation.
