Some players, especially if they are long, lifelong, you know, nostalgia ridden gamers, the idea of just a static, linear piece of music that's looping is, to them, that's definitive of the video game music experience. To them, dynamic music that sort of evolves or tries to sidestep the fatigue that can be so inherent to that is actually like anathema to the gaming experience.
