Are You a Dinosaur?

I get there are benefits in a four day week and I understand how the government might want to think about legislating to introduce that as a presumptive default but I struggle more with the fact that pay remains unchanged. It just seems blindingly obvious that if you're going to let somebody drop from a five to a four-day week they should be getting 80% of their salary. Am I a dinosaur? It depends if you're doing compressed hours. A very, very long time ago when I was a young mom a lot of my contemporaries were returning to work to do four day weeks and were receiving eight percent of their income.
