When I learned JavaScript recently, I read the definitive guide and then went through the back of the book. It's not just a single method call without a few tricks involved. And so making through that gets me to a conflict level where I feel like I've leveled up confidently in that. You hit on an interesting point that there are actually two or three different modes in which we can read.
