There is no scotch irish party. There's no quaker party, there's no puritan party. We are a society that's not organized around that stuff. The capital r republic was something that stirred people's blood. That was our replacement for the bloody minded retributiond and the tribal projects or all that stuff. I think you have to acknowledge, acknowledge that fact of human nature and basically strongly disincentivise it. Because fundamentally, it's irrational, right? Fund fundamentally, like this, like random demographic marker. Let alone just like random people of the same race or gender.
