Do You Treat Artists and Scientists Differently?

Is there sufficient differences in what art is understood to be, from what science is understanding to be? I think the reason to separate these things formally is that science in order, if we regard something as true, it's true. It by definition has to stand on its own merits irrespective of where it came from or how it emerged. Even if a computer, mind you, they're not up to it, but if a computer was capable of generating an insight that was then borne out by empirical test, then the point is, well, what do we do with the fact that it was a mindless computer?
