This could only be used with unaccusatives or passive sentences. So your normal transitive verb will not permit this sort of hanky, panky. But things like, you know, stand, sit, wonder, that sort of stuff can take it. None of them allow active transitive verbs to do this but they have a nice chart explaining which language is allowed. The thing being promoted is actually shifted to the end of the sentence. It's just that in this particular example, the thing demoted is a location.
