Aristotle is sympathetic to permenides rule that there can be no generation from nothing and no destruction into nothing. But he thinks it is obvious that parmenides ultimate conclusions are wrong. Things clearly do change, whether accidentally or in respect of their substance. The clearest illustrations are man made artifacts such as a table.
