A typical human naturally wants about eight to nine hours o sleep per day. But is that constant throughout our lives? No, it depends on how old you are. With the onset of puberty, a biological shift occurs that turns children who used to be morning people into teen agers, who are night owls. This is why tenagers and young adults have such trouble keeping an earlier bedtime. It isn't just because they're wanting to act more adult but also because there's a biological shift that really makes it harder for them to fall asleep early or wake up early in the morning.
