British research scientist stewart adms and his associate, john nicholson, invented a revolutionary anti inflammatory drug. While it would become a success, the drug was actually based on failure. Adams was trying to find a cure for rheumatoid arthritis,. hoping to develop something as effective as steroids, but with none of the side effects. They teted over 600 compounds, then narrowed the field down to five drugs four failed in clinical testing. The fifth, however, proved to be successful.
