We have a story about how the world works and then we notice an anomaly. And rather than try to fit that anomaly in or explore the anomaly, it's easier for us just to continue with our story. Scientists don't want to have anything challenge their theories. The way we get stuck in fixation is we explain away the anomalies. Hold on to the original wrong impression until it's too late.
