Vanilla Doesn't Make a Difference in Cookies and Cakes
Even a subtle amount of vanilla does make difference. You can't stir van illa into already baked cookies. It's got to be baked in the cake, as it were. If you don't notice a big difference between the two cookies, would guess that you're just not using enough vanilla. In baking, though, other extracts can do the job of vanilla. I use almond extract all the time. Orange extract, great stuff. Real vanilla is the pod from the orchid. And indeed, imit in vanilla can do theJob of real vanilla.
