You want to pick an exercise that gives you like, you get a lot out of it without it basically beating you to death. Rack pulls too can be extremely fatiguing, especially if you're pretty strong squats. A machine leg curl is one thing; a barbell deadlift with over two and a half times your body weight is another. I think what people hear us talking about volume, they assume everything can be 10 sets of 10 no matter how strong you are.
