The Importance of Comp Lifts in Powerlifting

I was new to powerlifting. I didn't have this huge strength base in these huge strength exposures. When I started squatting, I was a very narrow squatter. My back would round a ton on the deadlift. And I would get pitched forward pretty hard. So for me, I probably needed more max effort exposures. But when I started focusing more on doing a lot of heavy accessory work, dropping the frequency, dropping the comp lift volume. my deadlift got way better in terms of technique.My back stopped rounding and I was able to get into a much, much better position.
