Cows and pigs are raised on large-scale factory farms where they will never go outside in the case of breeding sows, which are the mother pigs. The same thing for egg laying hints. They're kept in these tiny cages about the size of a microwave. And that's how it is for one to two years until they go off to slaughter. So what you see across each of these industries is they found the most efficient possible way to raise these animals if you don't care at all about the interest of the animal.
