The Importance of Listening First

Kind of being a servant leader, I think I've seen people discussing getting the team on board that way rather than kind of being more dictator-like. Then you can say, okay, and then you can sort of shape it. When you put that consideration, that I'm listening to you, people tend to be reciprocative. They'll take the time to start listening back. And that's an exercise. One, I sort of build this level of the psychology we can really connect with each other. Then once we get aligned there, it's fine to be a dictator. But it's just putting a little foot forward to get aligned first.
