The Importance of Language Instruction in Learning
The language I use matters and we come back to that notion of who are my people what do they know you know so there's that relationship there between expertise and cognitive load theory as well. There is an engagement piece here as well which is a forerunner to learning perhaps is that the language I use Matters. We refer to a couple of models of motor learning in that area around the novice expertise differences and you sort of got genteels model. Using those models for coaching practice helps us think about what is the learner and what are the information they do or don't have as Jamie suggested.
