In 2007 the Institute of Medicine had a conference and they discussed RDA's. The recommended daily allowances are based on the lowest level of evidence we have which is merely expert opinion so basically I mean somebody guessed some guy said I think this is what it is and that's what it is. There would only be one example of somebody on a meat-based diet who died of scurvy right and it doesn't happen, he says.
