Harry Watson: The First New Zealander to Write in the Tour De France 1928

The 1928 Tour de France had the first English-speaking team that competed in it. One New Zealander and three Australians went six weeks at sea all the way to France with one set of rollers between them on these old heavy steel bikes. The Europeans were like, what the hell are you doing here? Do you not realize that we're the best riders in the world? They just couldn't get it together. And they were only four guys that were meant to team up with six other riders to make a team of 10 but didn't turn up.
