The Importance of Nutrition in Recovery

Gatorade Sports Science Institute has a separate nutrition department headed up by professor louise berg. We don't tend to give a lot of advice to our athletes because we leave it to the people who know more than us, but we have been involved in some research. Sleep is important for both the physical and the psychological aspects for athletes. The first half of sleep relatively speaking is more predisposed towards helping an individual physically recover. So if you would normally get eight hours If we think we should be getting eight or nine or even ten hours And we've got some of our athletes getting six hours regularly. There are still deep sleep or this more physical restorative type of sleep that happens
