The Competitive Advantage of Integration in B2B Systems

So I think the integration issue especially with the kind of B2B SAS or B2B platforms is fascinating because it comes down to kind of who pays and why. To go back to the firms with all these legacy systems as someone who's working with a lot of different companies do you see smaller companies who are designing their systems from day one to be scalable? And what sort of competitive advantage is this because we've yet to see a company really as far as I know fully sort of take that competitive advantage.?
