The Value of Math Theory

Algebra is at the foundation of adolescent math. And then there's its relationship to geometry, to the more advanced algebron and functions - you can have filled your way up to calculus. But when we get to solving problems, we immediately switch to a very abstractly algebraic model, which has no connection to reality. So i think a big problem is that we have this high, lofty goal of teaching math with a utilitarian perspective. As technology advances, this goal, it's not that honest, because we don't need math that much.
