How to Create a Transformational Model for Physicians
Ravi Agrawal: The model that we created every time that the practice changes in a way that they can provide better care and service to those patients, they in fact increase their bottom line. And so, aligning incentives is really central to helping physicians make the change because they deliver better care. Every patient who doesn't need to go represents a substantial savings, which in a transaction-based payment, the physician's has no benefit. We architected with central Ohio primary care an economic model for risk in partnership with a doctor group that didn't exist before.
