Cynicism and Desire for Authentic Marketing in the Beauty Industry

This week’s guest is New York-based Jennifer G. Sullivan, a beauty journalist with 20+ years experience and the co-host of one of the biggest beauty podcasts EVER, Fat Mascara.

Alongside Jessica Matlin (Director of Beauty at luxury online retailer Moda Operandi) Jenn started Fat Mascara back in 2016. More than 400 episodes later they have this really balanced approach to discussing the beauty industry and it’s easy to see why the podcast is so popular.

In this episode I get to flip the interview process around - after being on Fat Mascara myself in the past - and dive into Jenn’s beauty experiences and experiments. Of course I ask her about her favourite beauty products right now so stay tuned for that.

Along the way we discuss everything from foreskins in Jenn’s favourite serum to travel, eighties influences and she also shares some personal insights into how the pandemic affected her family.
