Is There a Science to Editing?
When you're editing, is there a science to it that you are actually kind of in your mind doing the math like I would do in some cases? Or is it intuition? Does it come down that you've done the editing dance so much that you know and feel when it's flowing? It's both actually. There's an incredible amount of intuition. Like if you watched me edit the timing of when I might cut from one image to another image,. The next image. How the narrator or the voice is talking about the story, the actual narrative. You want to carry them seamlessly through this emotional journey that we're telling.
