Sally Kohn was born in Chandigarh but grew up in Kanal, India. Her father died last year and she recently found a photo of her parents when they were younger. She says that as children you don't think of your parents as being real people. But later on "when you go through life, you look back, you kind of understand a little bit more" The film is about women striking back against patriarchy.
Women are not the only victims of patriarchy -- men are also diminished by it.
