A study by MIT and Regina University found that people retweeted a lot of fake news on their side when asked whether they thought it was true or not. The same thing is true for information on the media, social media. People can spot fake news. And if we get it wrong because we're not smart enough or don't notice that we're biased, then we think we would naturally evaluate the truth of every claim - but we just aren't paying attention.
