The Relationship Between Eating Disorders and Sexual Selection
How many men are there compared with women who have body image issues that would cross whatever the threshold is of pathological? That's a great question. It's not as common as for women. Women by and large experience more eating disorders, they're more likely to say they don't like the way their body looks at all levels of severity. But it's certainly there for men to get a sense of how the prevalence estimates fall out around one third to one quarter of the eating disorders that are thinness oriented about which we know quite a bit in regards to prevalence, they affect men.
