The ability to generate force quickly is one of the biggest determinants of performance. We did a study with the USA track and field team looking at their throwers. Almost every single athlete was that way, even in different throws. And so as you increase stiffness, when your muscle starts to contract, it'll transmit the force to the bone that is trying to move faster.
