How to Get Your Team Engaged

The more ownership people feel over the direction you're going, the more inclined they are to work hard to help you get there. We started doing strategic planning meetings where for a day or two every year, we'd close the restaurant and invite every single person on the team in for a day of brainstorming. And out of those meetings came many of the ideas that put our restaurant on the map and helped bring us to the top.
