Blizzard's Early Work on Hearthstone
Hearthstone is a digital version of the Wow Trading Card game. It was created by Corey Jones, who went on to run licensing for Blizzard. He said that if they were going to compete with all of the card games, critical mass would be an issue. And so he wanted it to match the gathering, have matched the gathering online and allow people to play magic online. That's how we came up with the idea for Hearthstone.
