How Did You Become a Chef?
I wanted to create something which invited people from all kinds of walks of life and gave them this amazing experience. I was dating my now wife long distance, she's the S in the JKS restaurants. We got chatting over some food,. And at that stage, we said, look, I've been wanting to do a Sri Lankan casual restaurant. So lo and behold, that was the beginning of Hoppers and the rest is history really. It wasn't just about cooking and being self focused about the food that you're developing. You already had the idea of a bigger picture.
