Freely Filtered 042: Nephrin Antibodies Cause Minimal Change Disease. Wait...What?
Freely Filtered, a NephJC Podcast
Nephrology - Is That What You Were Thinking About?
A technique called super resolution microscopy. sim allows you to look at two molecules that usually with a regular confocal microscopy, you would not be able to tell them apart. So we used that technique because it allowed us to really confirm the spatial proximity of the IgG to the nephrin. How much smaller is nephrin than on these EMs? A filtration slit is about 40 nanometers wide, 30 to 40 nanometers. The nephrin spans a little bit over half. It's probably 30 nanometers long a nephrin molecule,. I don't know.
