The Fault Reporting Manual
The fault isolation manual would normally be held by ground engineers. However, corean airlines had not supplied their stanstead engineer support contractor with a copy of the manual. So according to the fault reporting manual, code, the correct action is "putting a new gas cap on" This was a little more complicated than replacing gas cap. What they should have done was the number one inertial navigation unit, replace the whole unitjus right? It's a bad unit, right? The fault isolation manual wasn't there at the airport and it's not believed that they had one amongst the documents that they brought with them.
