Despite decades of progress closing the equality gap between men and women, close to 90 % of men and women hold some sort bias against women. i think that is one reason why the hesitation to say disparaging things about the less powerful half of the species is warranted. I don't see how hating any large segment of the population, only knowing their demographic characteristic could ever be a good thing.
