Dr. Shona Allison sent a couple of review papers that i'll post on the show page at science of ultra dot com slash podcasts slash 65 My summary of those papers is there That there may be some small benefit of cold baths or contrasting hot cold baths for muscle damage caused by high intensity workouts. This is for short term recovery for return to performance within hours or maybe the next day There is reason to believe that cold baths may dampen the long-term adaptation response Which you've heard before on science of ultra So take note that rapid recovery for a subsequent performance could be at the cost of long-term adaptations.
